The United Nations has issued a warning that the two-week ceasefire established by Israel, the United States, and Iran is currently at ‘grave risk’.

This situation arises as Israel has persisted in its attacks on Lebanon, which contravenes the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

The spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres cautioned that this development presents ‘a grave risk’ to the delicate truce between the US and Iran, as reported by the Guardian UK.

He stated, “The ongoing military activity in Lebanon poses a grave risk to the ceasefire and the efforts toward a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.”

The Secretary-General reiterated his appeal to all involved parties to immediately halt hostilities.

In the meantime, Israeli airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of an Al Jazeera correspondent and two Lebanese journalists in Gaza, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Additionally, the strikes have claimed the lives of health officials and two Lebanese journalists in the region, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

According to Al Jazeera, the Associated Press has reported that Mohammed Wishah was targeted in a drone strike in western Gaza City.

The Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, asserted on X that Wishah was affiliated with Hamas, sharing a 2024 tweet that referred to him as a ‘prominent commander’ within its military wing, among other roles.
