Wema Bank Plc has announced a final dividend of ₦1.25 per ordinary share for the financial year ended December 31, 2025, subject to applicable withholding tax and shareholder approval.

The bank disclosed that shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as of April 29, 2026, will be eligible for the dividend.

The Register of Shareholders will be closed from April 30 to May 6, 2026, in preparation for the payment.

Dividend payment is scheduled for May 20, 2026, and will be made electronically to shareholders who have completed the e-dividend registration process and mandated the registrar to credit their bank accounts directly.

The lender did not propose any bonus shares for the period under review.

Wema Bank advised shareholders who are yet to complete their e-dividend registration to download and submit the mandate activation form through its registrar, Greenwich Registrars & Data Solution Limited, or through their respective banks to ensure seamless payment.

The bank also urged investors with unclaimed dividend warrants or share certificates to regularise their holdings by completing the e-dividend process or contacting the registrar for necessary validation.

In addition, the company announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held virtually on May 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., providing shareholders with an opportunity to participate remotely in the company’s decision-making process.

The corporate action underscores Wema Bank’s continued commitment to shareholder returns, although the absence of a bonus issue indicates a more conservative capital management approach.

Investors will closely monitor the bank’s payout sustainability and earnings trajectory to assess the long-term attractiveness of its dividend policy.
