Zenith Bank Gets Six-Week Extension To Release H1 2026 Audited Results

Zenith Bank Plc has secured a six-week extension from the Nigerian Exchange Limited to publish its audited financial statements for the first half of 2026 as the lender awaits approval from its primary regulator.

According to a regulatory disclosure dated August 18, 2026, Zenith Bank’s Board of Directors approved the audited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026, on July 29.

However, regulatory clearance is still required before the results can be released to shareholders and the investing public.

The bank subsequently approached the NGX for additional time beyond the original August 29, 2026 regulatory filing deadline.

The Exchange approved a six-week extension, effectively giving Zenith Bank until October 9, 2026 to publish the results.

Zenith Bank said it expects to release the audited statements on or before the new deadline and could publish them earlier if the outstanding regulatory process is completed ahead of schedule.

The development means investors will have to wait for a full assessment of the lender’s earnings performance during the first six months of the year.

The H1 results are expected to provide details on Zenith Bank’s profitability, interest income, loan growth, deposits, asset quality and capital position during a period of significant changes across Nigeria’s banking industry.

The results will also be closely watched as the industry progresses with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recapitalisation programme.

Zenith Bank is one of Nigeria’s systemically important lenders and remains among the largest financial institutions listed on the Nigerian Exchange.

The latest disclosure follows similar developments among major Nigerian banking groups awaiting regulatory clearance before publishing their audited half-year accounts.

UBA disclosed that its board approved its H1 2026 audited financial statements on August 13 but said publication remained subject to CBN approval.

Guaranty Trust Holding Company has also secured an extension from the NGX to publish its H1 2026 audited financial statements by September 30 while awaiting regulatory clearance.

The delays therefore indicate that several of Nigeria’s largest financial institutions have completed board-level consideration of their half-year accounts but are yet to receive the approvals required for public release.

Zenith Bank said it remains optimistic that its financial statements will be submitted to the NGX and released to investors before the expiration of the extension.

The disclosure was signed by Company Secretary Michael Osilama Otu.
