Zeynep Sönmez has pulled off a huge comeback in Cincinnati, beating Daria Kasatkina 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 after saving a match point.
Kasatkina had the chance to finish the match in the second set, but Sönmez stayed in it and eventually forced a deciding set. She then completed the comeback to earn her first-ever win in Cincinnati.
It was a tough battle, with Sönmez repeatedly having to fight her way back in the second set. She eventually held her nerve in the tiebreak before taking control of the deciding set.
The win is a big moment for the Turkish player, especially against a former world No. 8 in Kasatkina.
Sönmez now moves into the next round, where she will face Amanda Anisimova.
