    Man Utd enter Rogers pursuit

Manchester United are ready to go head-to-head with Arsenal to sign Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers this summer, according to The Athletic.

The Red Devils strengthened their frontline with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko during last summer’s transfer window.

They are planning another spending spree for their attack and reports claim that the United hierarchy are fond admirers of Rogers in particular.

The Englishman was previously in the Manchester City reserves when United football director Jason Wilcox was in charge of their academy.

The good relationship has continued ever since and he has personally recommended United to pursue a deal for the ex-Bristol City man.

Aston Villa could sanction his sale for around £80 million, but it remains to be seen whether United can convince him to join without assured minutes.

Rogers plays as a left winger or as a number 10. Cunha and Bruno Fernandes are pretty much guaranteed starters in those spots at United.

At Arsenal, he could be an assured starter on the left wing with reports emerging that Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli could depart.
