Jones to Inter far from done

Liverpool have turned down an opening offer from Inter Milan to sign midfielder Curtis Jones, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Jones has been a quality squad player for the Merseyside giants, but his future is uncertain with the Reds eyeing a marquee midfield signing.

The Nerazzurri are eager to bring him to Serie A this summer, but their opening bid of 25 million euros has been immediately rejected.

Liverpool value their club graduate at a higher price, and a deal won’t progress unless the Nerazzurri make an improved bid for him.

The 2024/25 English champions are likely to hold out for at least 40 million euros to offload Jones, who made just 18 league starts last term.

Jones has remained calm about his future, but he could submit a transfer request amid his desire to join Inter Milan.

He has already given the green light to the Serie A champions, but is prepared to play the waiting game for now.
