Lagos govt to prosecute Access Bank-linked persons for assault on wastewater sanitation officers
The Lagos State Government has announced a plan to arrest and prosecute individuals who allegedly assaulted enforcement officers during an inspection of wastewater treatment plant at the Access Bank’s facility in Oniru, Victoria Island. The alleged assault incident was said to have followed a whistleblower’s tip-off that the wastewater treatment plant at the facility was non-functional. The United Bank for Africa (UBA) says it has strengthened the security of transactions on its mobile application to stop fraudulent debits, unauthorised transfers and withdrawals. UBA announced this in a memo forwarded to its customers via email on Tuesday. “We are pleased to inform you that we have further strengthened the security of transactions on the Mobile App. “Updated authentication options now apply based on the value of transfers,” the memo reads in part.
