WayaWaya, the Kenyan company building AI-powered financial services for banks and merchants, has appointed former Chase Bank Kenya executive Raj Singh as a non-executive director and board adviser.  The appointment comes as the startup intends to deepen relationships with financial institutions and merchants while expanding into new African and international markets. The 2026 Commonwealth Games got underway in Glasgow, Scotland, on Thursday, with Team Nigeria aiming for one of its best performances in the country’s history at the multi-sport event. The Nigerian naira extended its appreciation against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday. Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN showed that the naira strengthened further to N1,367.76 per dollar on Thursday, up from N1,369.64 per dollar recorded at the official foreign exchange market on Wednesday. This means that, on a day-to-day basis, the naira gained N1.87 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
