NIPCO Group has announced plans to develop a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas project in Nigeria, with the proposed development estimated to require more than $3bn in investment. This statement was made at a press conference on Thursday by the Managing Director of NIPCO Group, Nagendra Verma, who said the proposed project would have an envisaged LNG production capacity of approximately three million tonnes per annum, subject to the outcome of feasibility studies, regulatory approvals and a final investment decision. The figures were contained in the authority’s August 2026 Factsheet, which tracks petroleum product production, imports, domestic receipts, exports and inventories. The decline coincided with increased domestic refining activity, particularly at the Dangote Refinery, while diesel imports fell even more sharply. The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two men over the alleged sexual assault of three minor girls in Lanzai District of Darazo Local Government Area of the state. The suspects, identified as Abubakar Muhammad Jatau, 20, and Umar, 18, were arrested following a report by the father of the victims. They were among those paraded at the Police Headquarters, Yandoka, Bauchi, on Thursday.
