The Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians to draw inspiration from the 12 June 1993 election and work to ensure credible, transparent, and people-driven elections in 2027. In a Democracy Day message posted on his X handle on Friday, Mr Obi said 12 June should serve as a moment of reflection on the state of Nigeria’s democracy and governance. He urged citizens to assess whether the country’s democratic institutions were living up to the ideals symbolised by the historic 1993 presidential election. According to him, the annual observance of 12 June provides an…

Fans put off by prices, some denied visas, and locals more fired up about basketball: the 2026 World Cup is kicking off without much enthusiasm in the United States. The Nigerian Publishers Association has rejected the Federal Government’s proposed National Textbook Ranking System, warning that the policy could increase the cost of textbooks, stifle competition and create shortages of instructional materials across the country. The association also criticised what it described as a sharp increase in textbook assessment fees by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, saying the development would place an additional financial burden on publishers and ultimately affect parents and learners. The President of the NPA, Lukman Dauda, stated this while addressing journalists in Lagos on Wednesday. Dauda questioned the transparency of the proposed ranking framework…

That is why Equal AI is creating an assistant that can receive calls on your behalf, gather information, and tell you why someone is calling. The app is currently available on Android, and since its launch last year, it has grown to more than a…
