The Northern Youth Frontiers on Sunday described the massive turnout at the presidential campaign rally in Kaduna as evidence of Northern Nigeria’s confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, reaffirming its support for his re-election in 2027.

The coalition, comprising youth groups across the 19 Northern states, also commended the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, for his role in grassroots mobilisation ahead of the rally.

The coordinator of the group in the North-West, Saminu Turaki, stated this in a statement congratulating Tinubu on the rally’s success on Sunday.

Turaki described the turnout as a demonstration of the support the President enjoyed in the region.

“The spectacular outing in Kaduna is a clear testament to the unalloyed love, confidence, and overwhelming support that the people of Northern Nigeria continue to repose in the leadership and vision of President Tinubu,” he said.

He commended traditional rulers, community leaders and residents for participating in the rally, adding that their presence demonstrated solidarity with the President.

The coalition also praised Yari’s leadership and organisational skills, saying his mobilisation efforts had energised young people across the North.

“Through his pragmatic leadership, strategic vision, and tireless grassroots mobilisation, Senator Yari has once again proven to be a master strategist and a true champion of political unity and organisation,” Turaki said.

He added that Yari’s leadership had “set a high benchmark for campaign excellence”.

The group, however, urged political parties and other stakeholders to conduct their activities peacefully as political campaigns gathered momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Turaki warned against statements and campaigns capable of heightening political tensions, ethnic divisions and religious intolerance.

“Elections should be a contest of ideas, developmental plans, and track records, not an avenue to sow seeds of discord, ethnicity, or religious division. We urge all stakeholders to embrace peace and decorum throughout this campaign season,” he said.

Reaffirming the coalition’s support for Tinubu’s second-term bid, Turaki said its endorsement was based on what it described as the President’s performance, commitment to nation-building and economic reform agenda.

“President Tinubu has demonstrated courageous leadership in steering the nation toward sustainable growth, and the North stands ready to ensure the continuation of these transformational policies for another term,” he said.

The group also called on political stakeholders to prioritise national unity and stability throughout the electioneering period.

PUNCH Online reports that President Bola Tinubu officially flagged off his 2027 re-election campaign on October 24, 2026, with a mega rally held at the Kaduna Township Stadium in Kaduna State.
