Lagos will host the 10th International Chamber of Commerce Africa Conference on International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution from June 3 to 5, 2026, as arbitration practitioners, business leaders, regulators, and legal professionals gather to discuss dispute resolution and cross-border commercial transactions across the continent.

A statement from the organisers on Saturday stated that the conference, organised by the ICC International Court of Arbitration in collaboration with ICC Nigeria, will be held at the Lagos Continental Hotel under the theme, “A Decade of Excellence: Shaping the Future of International Arbitration & ADR in Africa.”

“Activities will commence on June 3 with an Advanced Training on Drafting Enforceable Awards hosted by the ICC Institute of World Business Law. The session is expected to provide participants with practical insights into drafting enforceable arbitral awards,” the statement stated.

It added, “The main conference, scheduled for June 4 and 5, will focus on cross-border commercial disputes, enforcement of arbitral awards, investment arbitration, energy and infrastructure disputes, technology and innovation in arbitration, and Africa’s position within the global arbitration ecosystem.

“Among the speakers expected at the conference are Lateef Olasukanmi Fagbemi, Claudia Salomon, Dorothy Udeme Ufot, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Afam Osigwe, Lawal Pedro, and Funke Adekoya.”

Speaking ahead of the conference, ICC Nigeria described the event as a platform for strengthening arbitration practice across Africa while promoting investor confidence and efficient dispute resolution mechanisms for economic growth and international business transactions.

According to the organisers, the conference is expected to attract lawyers, arbitrators, corporate counsel, judges, academics, regulators, policymakers, and other professionals from across Africa to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution on the continent.

The organisers added that hosting the conference in Lagos reinforces Nigeria’s position as a hub for international arbitration, legal innovation, and commercial dispute resolution in Africa.
