The Wowbii Interactive Technology has donated 20 smart boards for installation in 20 Unity schools across the geopolitical zones.

Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Wowbii, Gbolahan Ilayomi, said the donation was informed by the recognition that Unity Colleges represent a critical part of Nigeria’s educational heritage and national integration framework.

He added that the donation of the interactive boards was necessary to strengthen the digital learning infrastructure across Federal Colleges in Nigeria.

“Supporting USOSA with modern interactive learning technology is a strategic contribution toward improving classroom delivery, enhancing student engagement, and aligning our schools with global digital learning standards,” Ilayomi said.

In her remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Wowbii Interactive Technology, Mrs Toyin Ayoseyi, described the company as the future of e-learning and stressed that it aimed to see the Wowbii smart board in every institution in Nigeria.

Receiving the donation in Lagos, the President-General of the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA), Michael Magaji, said the boards would have a lasting and transformative impact on the nation’s educational sector, particularly in public education.

Magaji said adopting technology in schools would serve as a springboard for national growth and development. He called for technology integration from the early stages of education to boost nation-building.

“Today, USOSA is a beneficiary of 20 smart boards given by Wowbii free of charge, to be installed in 20 unity schools across the geopolitical regions of Nigeria,” he said.

“The learning tools will boost Unity Schools’ devotion to digital solutions, modern creativity, and innovative learning techniques, especially for modern students who are digital natives and familiar with technology,” he added.

He also highlighted USOSA’s commitment to transforming unity schools through the resources and time of its old students.

“Don’t forget that unity schools were primarily created for nation-building post-independence, when Nigerians were brought together in their formative years to live and learn together, to understand what it means to be citizens of a new country. What you are seeing today is a return on that investment made about 60 years ago,” Magaji said.

He added, “Unity schools are spread across the country, and irrespective of where we are from, we have no mental or cultural barriers about giving back. I give back to my school not because I am from there, but because it nurtured me. I urge Nigerians to give back.”

He outlined ways to contribute, including financial donations and infrastructure support ranging from classrooms to hostels to digital labs across Unity Schools nationwide, with the aim not just to enhance education but to promote nation-building.
