    By Prima NewsMay 25, 2026

The Nigerian Army has alerted residents of the North-east region to plans by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP) terrorists to carry out suicide bombing and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks ahead of the Eid-Kabir celebrations. However, it says it has deployed troops and surveillance assets to forestall the threats. In a security advisory issued on Monday, the Headquarters, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), a joint task force in the region, said credible intelligence indicated that insurgents could attempt isolated attacks on civilian targets, especially in crowded locations during the festive period. From Champions to Relegation: The Sad Fall of Remo Stars

    By Prima NewsMay 25, 2026

It is not common in football to see a club win the league title and then get relegated the following season. But in the Nigeria Premier Football League, surprises like this can happen because the competition is always difficult and unpredictable. The NPFL remains one of the most competitive leagues in Africa, where the difference in quality between clubs is very small. Any team can defeat another on a good day, and success one season does not guarantee success the next season. A clear example is Remo Stars, who have now suffered relegation to the Nigeria National League after playing…

    By Prima NewsMay 25, 2026

Reality TV star and actor, Saga Adeolu, popularly known as Saga, has spoken about the realities of acting, saying romantic scenes in films are far less glamorous than they appear on screen. Unpacking the CBN’s Intervention and Appeal

    By Prima NewsMay 25, 2026

There is a particular genre of financial commentary that mistakes legal process for a factual verdict. A court delivers a first instance ruling, procedural questions are raised, and before the ink is dry on the appeal filing, the narrative has already hardened: the regulator overreached, investor confidence is shattered, and Nigeria’s financial governance is on trial before the world. Much of the commentary currently circulating about Union Bank of Nigeria belongs to that genre. It is not without merit on certain procedural questions. But it is, at its core, incomplete — and incompleteness in financial journalism carries costs that run…

    By Prima NewsMay 25, 2026

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Francis de Souza, COO of Google Cloud, backstage at an event in Los Angeles. Amid the din around us, de Souza, who speaks in the calm, measured manner of a university professor, offered useful advice for companies navigating the AI security moment we’re all living through, noting that “there’ll be a transition period, and then I think we get to this better place.” He wasn’t speaking about Google at that moment, but it’s clear that even Google is still figuring things out. De Souza’s core message was one security professionals have…
