Tunde Kelani urges creatives to embrace cultural roots

    By Prima NewsMay 25, 2026

Veteran filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, has advised young creatives to remain rooted in their cultural identity while embracing modern technology, warning that excessive dependence on digital tools could dilute originality in storytelling. Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Kelani emphasised the importance of African storytelling and the need for filmmakers to continually draw from indigenous heritage. He noted that Africa’s cultural diversity remains one of its strongest creative assets. “When you mention Africa, we are talking about 50 countries, over 2,000 languages and cultures. That is our strength. We must go back and unearth our intangible heritage,” he said. Kelani…

Joint Health, Sleep & Weight Management

    By Prima NewsMay 24, 2026

A couple of months ago, I saw something that amused me on Instagram. One woman posted a seed and talked about the health benefits. Then, a follower harmlessly asked for the scientific studies backing the claim, and the poster got angry. If I had joined the conversation that day, my comment would have heightened the tension because I would have supported the follower who asked for scientific backing. I will keep saying this: not all ethnobotanical claims are safe. For example, traditionally, babies are given honey during naming ceremonies, until science exposed the danger in doing so. Let us learn…

Robotaxis are here! And yet, they’re not.  That contradiction neatly captures Waymo’s current reality. Anyone walking around San Francisco could reasonably declare that robotaxis have arrived. But arrival, even at scale, doesn’t guarantee permanence. Such is the dogged threat hanging over every company trying to commercialize autonomous vehicles. Waymo paused operations in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio because its robotaxis are struggling to deal with…
