Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited says it has resumed production at the Bonga deepwater field following the completion of turnaround maintenance on the Bonga floating production, storage, and offloading vessel. In a statement on Friday, the company said production restarted on March 6, 2026, after the maintenance project was completed 11 days ahead of schedule and without any safety incident. Four passengers were killed and four others injured in a road accident involving a truck and a commercial mini bus along the Lekki–Epe Expressway in Lagos, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said. LASTMA confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq. According to the agency, the crash occurred over the weekend opposite Beechwood, Shapati, inward Ajah, along the busy expressway corridor. Cancer patients in Northern Nigeria may benefit from expanded specialist care following the commencement of oncology training under a new partnership between Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria and Kano Cancer Treatment Centre. Agency Report The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Imo says it has one Tochukwu Ogaranya, 52, alongside five pregnant women, aged between 25 and 33, in its custody for alleged child trafficking. The command also said that it rescued five newborn babies from the suspects. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Father Adasu University, Makurdi branch, has threatened to embark on industrial action over unresolved welfare issues affecting academic staff. The union listed the unresolved welfare issues to include unpaid salary arrears, promotion benefits, and alleged irregularities in pension remittances.
