Nigeria international Akor Adams scored the winning goal as Venezia defeated Napoli 1-0 in Serie A on Saturday to record their first league victory of the season.
Adams struck four minutes into the second half, beating his marker to a long ball before his shot took a deflection and went into the net.
The goal was the 25-year-old forward’s second in the league this season.
The former Sevilla striker also helped Venezia keep their first clean sheet of the campaign as they held on for all three points.
The victory was Venezia’s first against Napoli in any competition since a 2-1 win in Serie B in 2003. It was also their first Serie A victory over Napoli in the 21st century.
Despite the important win, Venezia remain bottom of the Serie A table with three points from seven matches.
